The Mathematics Pentathlon® Program may be implemented in a variety of instructional formats including classroom, club, home and academic tournaments. Two or three formats may be used simultaneously or only one setting may be chosen. Maximum benefits are derived when all four instructional formats are functioning.
One of the many important things a parent can do is to reinforce the mathematics a child learns in school. Yet, parents and children alike become wary of drill-type worksheets and flashcards. The Mathematics Pentathlon® Games and related activities are an enjoyable alternative to conventional rote-learning practices. While playing the games, students practice important basic skills as well as Non-routine Problem Solving. The Mathematics Pentathlon® Games also provide families with an enjoyable and motivational format to learn strategic thinking together.
