Tournaments – Overview

Bringing The Entire Educational Community Together

Students who have become proficient at the games may wish to test their problem-solving abilities with students from other schools at a National Mathematics Pentathlon® Academic Tournament. Teachers and parents can help these students by preparing them for this level of involvement. If students intend to participate, they need to be very knowledgeable of the procedures and rules that apply to these tournaments.

We welcome ALL students who know all 5 games and are knowledgeable about tournament procedures to attend a National Mathematics Pentathlon® Academic Tournament in the following Center:
Indiana – Ohio Center
Michigan – Ohio Center
Texas – Austin Metro Center
Texas – Dallas/Fort Worth Metro Center

Tournaments are conducted on Saturdays in the Spring. In each Region there is one tournament for each Division Level:
Division I (Kindergarten – 1st Grade)
Division II (2nd – 3rd Grade)
Division III (4th – 5th Grade)
Division IV (6th – 7th Grade)

The Pentathlon Institute has the sole legal rights through our Service Mark and Trade Mark to conduct  Mathematics Pentathlon® Tournaments/Competitions.  We obtained these rights to maintain the integrity of the Mathematics Pentathlon® Program and to assure participating school districts that all National Tournaments provide the same standards and excellence.  These rights are described in all of our copyrighted Publications as well as our Gameboards.  Therefore, schools, districts, or other groups are not allowed to conduct tournaments/competitions unless in concert with the Pentathlon Institute.
